Interlude: In Between Is Now is an immersive installation by the New York–based artist and experience designer Annabelle Schneider. It was presented by Therme Art at Dubai Design Week 2025 (4–9 November) in partnership with ArtKōrero, a Dubai-based global art and cultural agency working at the intersection of art, design, and lived experience.
This multi-sensory artwork manifests as an inflatable cocoon that rhythmically expands and contracts with a breathing cadence. Shaped by air, sound, and scent, it invites the audience to pause, connect, and breathe. Within its soft, tactile interior, the work provides a counterpoint to the intensity of the world outside, fostering both calm and joy.
Bringing together presence, play, and community, Interlude embodies Therme Art’s commitment to cultural practices that move beyond traditional exhibition formats. The project aligns with Therme Art’s mission to promote physical and mental wellbeing through art and architecture, shaping environments that restore balance to the mind and senses while opening spaces for reflection and connection.
As the cultural incubator of Therme Group, Therme Art presented Interlude in Dubai in connection with Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky, a landmark wellbeing destination designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, set to open in 2028. The project is part of Therme Group’s broader vision for the city, aiming to set a global benchmark for sustainable urban living and cultural engagement, while reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for innovation and creativity in the wellbeing sector.
Interlude’s debut at Dubai Design Week—the region’s leading platform for design and innovation—represents a further evolution of Therme Art’s international cultural programme, engaging global audiences through art that promotes wellbeing, reflection, and connection.
